The Holiday Season

The Holiday Season is in full swing and I am enjoying every second of it. Now that my son is almost three, the magic that surrounds Christmas seems to have been sparked! I am typically one who waits until the day after Thanksgiving to begin listening to Christmas tunes or even think about Christmas shopping, decorating...pretty much anything that has to do with Christmas must wait until after Thanksgiving. Yet, this year was differnet. I was in the spirit before Halloween. I kept thinking, I can't WAIT for Christmas as I was looking for costumes for my little guy. So, on November 15th, when my local radio station began playing 24 hours of Christmas tunes, I turned up the volume and began singing away.

November was such an incredible month for me. I helped organize a Women In Leadership event at my company with two incredible women. I was even one of the four women who spoke. The event showcased four women within the organization within different roles that shared their own personal story of where they were, where they are, and where they see themselves in the future. It was an incredible event where I was able to share my story in the hope that it resonated with at least one person. I wanted to share my story because I felt so alone at one time and I made it out. I wanted anyone to know that if they have or are going through something they have the power within them to persevere and make it out on the other side stronger and wiser. It also fulfilled a secret dream of mine to one day be a motivational speaker. The event went off without a hitch, I shared my story without crying every two seconds, and two people reached out to me moments after the event sharing their story with me and how much they needed to hear it. Perhaps that is what sparked the joy within to embrace the holiday season.

I bought so many presents for everyone in the family and I am so excited to wrap them all and watch as they open and see the happiness on their face!

I wish everyone a wonderful Holiday season. No matter what holiday you celebrate, may it be filled with love, joy, and the magic that comes from this special time of year.
